In Memory of Jonathan “Jon” James Seibold

Jonathan “Jon” James Seibold, 52, died peacefully on Wednesday, August 14th, 2024 at Alton Memorial Hospital surrounded by family.

Born November 6, 1971, he was the son of the late James “Jim” Seibold and Mary Lu McManus. Jon graduated from Alton High School and later attended Ranken Technical College and went on to become an union electrician with IBEW Local 649.

Jon gravitated towards outdoor activities and always encouraged friends and family to join him in mushroom hunting and fishing. He had an uncanny ability to find arrowheads without even trying. He loved golf and continuously strived to improve his game and get out to play a round with friends. You could always find Jon driving down a country road with the windows down listening to his favorite rock music. He loved to share all of his passions with friends and family.

Surviving are his two children Holly and Lucas Seibold. Also surviving are his sister Elizabeth (Daniel) Meyer and two aunts and two uncles, Martha Kane, Patricia Vambaketes, George (Cheryl) Vambaketes, and Gregory Vambaketes, his many cousins, Zach, Grant, and Evan Kane, Jim and Peter Vambaketes, Ryan Coughlin, Emily Nielson, Nathan Fraley, Robert Hunter, and Sarah Zimmerman and his former wife Ann Seibold.

He was preceded in death by is father; James “Jim” Seibold, mother; Mary Lu McManus, grandmother; Agnes Louise Seibold, grandparents; Jay and Martha McManus, uncles; J. Michael Kane, Paul Vambaketes, Nick Vambaketes, and aunt; Tammy Vambaketes.

Per his request, memorial services will be private but there will be a celebration of life service from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, August 19, 2024 at Bluff City Grill in Alton. Please enter through the outside second floor entrance.
